Homosexuals Effusions in the Sistine Chapel

Michelangelo and Homosexuality

Battle of the Centaurs, Conversion of Saul or The Last Judgment, in which of these artworks appear homosexual effusions?

A kiss between two men can be seen in one of the greatest masterpieces in the world: The Last Judgement. The fresco is exposed in the Sistine Chapel, and has been made by Michelangelo during his old age, when he had no more fear to manifest through his art everything he really wanted.

As everyone knows Michelangelo was devoted to the art of sculpture, and he was called to Rome by Pope Julius II warrior. Michelangelo thought that the request was to make a grandiose sculpture to celebrate the pope in centuries: his tomb. However, the Pope asked him to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and this is how the masterpiece started.

By lying on the floor Michelangelo painted the stories of the Old Testament. Since the creation of the first man, to the expulsion of Adam and Eve from Paradise, and the adventure of Noah. Soon after the first paintings, Michelangelo’s symbolism became more explicit.

All women were painted extremely muscular, even in the Last Judgement. Michelangelo in fact lived a constant conflict with the human body, which led him to be sexually attracted to other men. The conflict he lived in made him feel several passions and emotions, in which he sensed a salvific power.

A thought that will characterize all of his last sculptures, where the subjects look apparently unfinished, but are actually seeking freedom. Not as a coincidence Michelangelo’s self-portrait in the Last Judgement it is just an empty shell.

In the fresco Jesus is the most powerful character and from his movement starts a hurricane of energy that embrace all the others. On a wild forced run into the abyss and a peaceful climb to Heaven. Michelangelo while puts Biagio da Cesena, according to some a pedophile, and much hated by the artist (that’s why he portraits him with a snake biting his genitals) in hell, decides to elevate to heaven two men embraced while kissing .

And for those who have anything to say against those two men, Michelangelo replied, as always, with two beautiful bottoms in the foreground, clear answer for his many opponents of the time.
