André Aciman is writing a new book: the sequel of Call Me by Your Name, titled ‘Find Me’.
The sequel will be set about five or six years after the events of the first movie. Thus, in the sequel of Call Me By Your Name the two young gay lovers get together again. Oliver and Elio will be back, but not in Italy; the homosexual pair will be adventuring elsewhere.
The director Luca Guadagnino said: “It’s gonna be a new movie, a different tone,” he said. “You’re gonna see a lot of the East Coast of America… They’re gonna go around the world.”
In ‘Find Me’, Aciman will revisit the lives of Elio, Oliver, and of another member of the Perlman family. According to the announcement: “In Find Me, Elio’s father Samuel, now divorced, is on a trip from Florence to Rome to visit Elio, who has become a gifted classical pianist. A chance encounter on the train leads to a relationship that changes Sami’s life definitively. Elio soon moves to Paris where he too has a consequential affair, whereas Oliver, now a professor in northern New England with sons who are nearly grown, suddenly finds himself contemplating a return visit to Europe.”
Find Me will be edited on October 29, 2019.
Let’s see what will happen next!
